It is learnt that workers who contributed the social security fee by 5% of their monthly wages (3% from the employer and 2% from the employee). can enjoy 2 types of social security insurance.
The social security contribution is the type of insurance covered by the social security system and workers contribute to receive certain benefits. According to the social security law enacted in 2012, there are 6 types of insurance. Among them, only 2 types of insurance systems, namely No. (1) health and social care insurance system and No. (3) workplace injury benefit insurance system, are being implemented, and the rest of the insurance systems have not yet been.
There are 10 types of benefits and conditions that workers are entitled in the health and social care insurance system. There are –
(1) Medical treatment,
(2) Sickness benefits,
(3) Maternity benefits (maternity expenses) ,
(4) Financial benefits for miscarriage,
(5) Benefit for adoption of child under 1 year old,
6) Paternity benefit (maternity allowance for paternity),
(7) Medical treatment for up to 1 year for the infants of insured workers are allowed to receive,
(8) Funeral expenses for death due to any cause,
(9) Reimbursement of medical travel expenses,
(10) Medical treatment even after they retire for those have contributed for 180 months or more under the Social Security Law of 2012.
There are also 3 types of conditions that are allowed for workers who are covered by the social security under the additional insurance system, (2) workplace injury insurance system
(1) Medical treatment.
(2) Financial benefits for temporary disability and permanent disability,
(3) Benefits for families of the workers who died in workplace incident
“There are many workers who don’t know why they are paying for social security and what exactly it is. If the stuffs from social security and payroll departments explain the workers, they will be much benefits for them,” said a labor activist.
According to the 2 types of social security insurance system implemented in the country, the workers can be entitled to medical treatment rights and compensation and expenses can be obtained according to a certain percentage.
