The social security office which locates in front of the Hlaing Thar Yar Township Administration office no longer pays maternity leave to pregnant workers.

A female worker working at the factory was allowed to take leave for 6 weeks prior of birth and 8 weeks after but the social security office denied the wages although they submitted proper documents.

The worker paid for social security leave more than 10 years without missing a month.

The worker asked for the documents they submit if they can’t give social security but the stuffs told that those documents are also lost.

The worker complaint that if their social security contributions are not allowed to benefit, they should tell them before without making them submit their documents.

The worker said denying the benefits after submitting the document and exploiting their social security wage is not acceptable.
