The Yangon Region Gold Industry Association has announced on June 5 that gold shops to open daily for trading and sell only at the set price.

The association also publishes the price of gold to be sold 3 times a day, and has informed the gold shops opened in Yangon Region that they will take effective action if they do not follow the instructions.

The current price at 12:00 pm, June 5 is 4,815,000 kyats for a 24 Karet Gold per kyat thar (16.3g).

The gold price in May was 5,800,000 kyats for 1 kyat thar (16.3g) of 24 Karet gold and 21 famous gold shop owners and traders were arrested and 10 were issued warrant.
