According to the workers, the ALLAND FASHION LIMITED garment factory which opened in Phan Chat Wun U Shwe Oo Street, Hlaing Thar Yar Township is committing many labor rights violations against more than 400 factory workers.

It is said that the factory is owned by a Chinese citizen and manufactures the defacto brand.

Casual and medical leaves are not allowed to enjoy although the workers are entitled to. If the workers are sick (or cannot go to work due to various reasons), they will only be absent without a casual leave, so if the workers miss a day of work, they will be cut 4,800 MMK daily wage and 20,000 MMK attendance bonus. It is reported that a total of 24,800 MMK is being cut for missing a single day.

Furthermore, the all supers and the supers demand the amounts of fabrics that the workers cannot sew and that a single machine line is assigned to sew jackets with more than 30 people.

The workers are being demanded the fabrics by yelling, forced to meet the standards by all supers and supers without any reinforcing.

"They only scream and forced to meet the standards. But I am not sure whether they don’t know about unbalanced human resources or they neglected. They just oppressed the workers and asked the standards," the worker said.

Even though the workers are labeled as having been paid professional fees, it is not known what the level of professional fees is. The unsatisfied worker said that only some workers who are comfortable with the supers are paid 20,000 kyats, and the workers who work really hard are not given any benefits.

In addition, if a worker is unable to meet the demand for fabric, the worker will not be allowed to go back at 7:00 p.m. and will be forced to work overtime until 12:00 p.m. free of charge. Some workers were robbed of their phones and money on the way back home as they don’t provide a ferry. There was no responsibility from the employer upon those situations, and continues to call the overtime everyday.

If the workers quit their jobs, the money for the days they worked is not easily given and is delayed. The workers are given priority when they pay 10,000 MMK.

30 underage child workers are hired in the factory and pay the workers only 4,800 MMK per day until today. The workers are not being paid a raise, and they are being exploited by any means.

As of many such rights violations

The workers requests are to

1. Allow them to enjoy vacation and medical leave.

2. When asking for a standard, ask for only a standard that can be sewn and not to swear when asking for a record.

3. All super and supers not to yell.

4. Not to ask for money when the workers who quit are came back to take the salary.

5. To pay the workers professional fees fairly and to divide the professional fee level at one time.
