Joy Time Garment Factory Workers' Demands Successfully Resolved

The wage increase demands by workers at Joy Time garment factory were successfully resolved through negotiations on June 2, according to a statement from the Solidarity Trade Union of Myanmar (STUM).

Factory workers began demanding a minimum wage increase on the night of May 30. All workers participated in the demand, and an agreement was reached between the employer and the worker after three days.

The workers had originally requested a daily wage of 13,000 kyats, 2,500 kyats for overtime pay, and 60,000 kyats for attendance bonus. Following negotiations, both parties agreed on a daily wage of 11,500 kyats, 2,200 kyats for overtime, and 50,000 kyats for attendance bonus.

Joy Time (Myanmar) Garment Factory, located in Wataya Industrial Zone, Shwepyithar Township, Yangon, on Botaikchun Road, is a CMP factory manufacturing brands such as XSide, SOUTHBLUE, LC WAIKIKI, and mavi.
