Agreement Reached Between Myanmar Postarion Factory and Workers

An agreement was reached today, June 5, between Myanmar Postarion garment factory and the workers who had been staging a wage increase protest, according to a statement by the Solidarity Trade Union of Myanmar (STUM).

The factory side agreed to raise the daily wage to 11,000 kyats, and both parties reached a mutual agreement. The workers had been demanding 13,000 kyats for daily wages, 60,000 kyats for attendance bonus, and 2,500 kyats per hour for overtime over the course of three days.

Myanmar Postarion, formerly known as Red Stone, is a garment factory located on Industry Road 3, Industrial Zone 1, Shwepyithar Township, Yangon. It is also reported that all factory workers participated in the wage increase demand.
