The Foreign Work Supervision Committee of the Ministry of Labor held a meeting on April 5th on the convenient employment of migrant workers abroad, but it was not seen that discussions were held to resolve the grievances of those who went to work abroad and those who are preparing to go to work.

The number of people who want to go abroad to work in the country is significantly high currently , and workers aid organizations say that despite the fact that workers are being defrauded, having to pay more than the fixed service fee and losing their rights and not getting wages, the Ministry of Labor is not taking strict action.

There was a joint solution to this situation between the workers aid organizations and the officials of the MOEAF Federation before the coup, but it is currently suspended.

Only the situations of issuance of CI (Certificate of Identification)cards, income tax, collecting e-ID information and setting the workers' wages transferring methods was discussed in the meeting of the Foreign Work Supervision Committee according to the news.

We are going to give overly asked service fees and not sure where we have to go. The ministry always publish that everything is alright. But we want them to strictly manage the current situations,” said a person who is waiting to go to work at abroad.

According to data released by the Ministry of Labor, the number of licensed agencies has reached 522, almost doubling the number before the military coup.

"We don’t mind the increase in service fees due to the currency rate. But the problems are solved effectively the ministry also set a fixed rate and take action on those who asked more. For now I don't know how to complain. The only thing I know is the ministry accepts the report letter. They need to solve these issues effectively," said a person who is preparing to work abroad.

The overseas job market has grown after the coup and the military service law,, and people related to the military and entrepreneurs are reportedly entering the market.
