According to the agencies, they has requested permission from the Ministry of Labor to sign the contract to send workers to Thailand after receiving the correct approval of the work invitation, and the ministry said that only workers under the age of 23 and over 31 will be allowed.

As a result, workers between the ages of 23 and 31 are not allowed to sign contracts, so the Ministry of Labor has informed them to revise the list of people submitted for signing contracts.

“They I informed that the Thai contract shall only be recruit male workers under the age of 23 and over 31. They asked us to send back the list of contracts. The current submission to sign contractions is for those who have received demands before May 1st but not new ones. It is not yet certain whether the age limit applies only to Thailand or other countries. This is a reply to the agencies that have been allowed to signed Thai contracts,” said an official from a licensed agency.

We contacted the Ministry of Labor about this matter, but there was no response.

It is reported that the agency that will send the male workers to Thailand are also is having a difficult time as the age limit is imposed on the contract.

The Ministry of Labor has responded to media inquiries by saying that the leave of male workers has been temporarily suspended  starting May 1st, in order to take more time to verify the migration issues and other conditions.
