According to licensed agencies, they are starting to send Myanmar workers officially to Dehong Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan province, China.

In June, they started sending about 90 workers to the garment industry, and there are some inconveniences as some of them are not skilled in the industry.

“We are starting to send workers to China by flight. We send mostly females as it is garment works. Those who just study 1 month sewing course find inconvenience there but who have experienced in Myanmar and those who can really sew are working without difficulty,” said an official from an agency.

Furthermore, there is some difficulties to provide visa as they only sent workers to Dehong Autonomous Prefecture but not the whole mainland.

“The mainland China doesn’t have the needs of foreign workers. It is just for Dehong Autonomous Prefecture. Therefore, they don’t want to provide labor visa. Those previously sent are applied for business visa and got a work permit there. So, the agencies are still learning the situations to send more workers,” said an official from an agency.

The wages are 1,200 to 2,000 yuan a month and accommodation and meals are provided as well.

Previously workers form Myanmar work at China by using one week entry card at the Muse and the official sending of the workers started just now.
