There is an increase in recruitment of skilled Myanmar garment workers through the installment system in China’s industrial zones and the Myanmar workers who are going are also raising as well.

“They called expert seamstress with free travel expenses but they should do the Smart ID card before. The salary of the first month would be mortgaged and they will get paid starting the second month. The free travel expenses will be cut from their salaries. If they quit before 3 months, they have to compensate the travel expense. Many people are interesting to work and brokers are also raising,” said a Myanmar worker from Shwe Li.

Many Myanmar workers are going to work at Shwe Li, Man Si and Lyan Hal garment factories where recruitment are raising.

“My acquittances are now at Shwe Li. There is lack of employment in Muse. Some goes with agencies and some goes with the network of current workers. The important thing is they have to try to get the smart card. The car ticket price from Mandalay to Muse Cost 250,000 Lakhs. They have to book in advance,” said a driver who is driving on the Mandalay-Muse road.

Some goes with the network of their friends who are current workers and some goes with brokers which cause from 5-7 lakhs.

Two industrial zones are recruiting 60 expert seamstresses including the former workers and new workers who already have smart card via the brokers. There are people who make smart cards with brokers which cost from 80,000 to 200,000 kyats.

Currently, there is a shortage of skilled workers in the country, and even cause a situation where wages are raised a little, working in China can earn a minimum of 700,000 to 1000,000 Myanmar Kyat per month, so they are moving to work in garment factories in China, where they can easily enter and leave.
