Requests for help from those who were sold as Chinese men’s wife

It is said that there are many people who have sought help from the anti-trafficking police to help them because they were sold as Chinese men’s wives and trafficked after going to work in China.

It is said that there are the victims themselves who contacted the anti-trafficking police also those asked for help via the family members of the people who were trafficked.

It is said that the majority of those who are sold as Chinese men’s wives are those who are trafficked to the other country by looking for work online.

“The most common thing is that people are sold from looking for work online. They are taken advantage of by brokers and traffickers by the fake advertise salaries online when there is lack of employment and low wages in the country. Those who fell in the traps were sold as Chinese men’s wife,” said an officer from anti-trafficking police force.

The anti-trafficking police have connected with China's Shwe Li anti-trafficking office to bring back those who have asked for help. It is said that there were 30 women who asked for help last year and 26 of them were rescued.

There were 7 people who asked for help in this year and two of them were found and rescued and trying to recuse the remaining people as well.

Due to the low wages in the country, despite working, it is becoming difficult to make a living and adult women and men who are able to work are traveling to foreign workplaces and borders to work and some are targeted by scammers and some are trafficked.
