The Myanmar Passport Issuance Office has announced that the online appointment system and QR code process for passport applications will resume on May 1. The system had been temporarily suspended following the earthquake on March 28, but applications will once again be accepted starting from May 1.

The online appointment system for passport applications had been halted for nearly a month due to damage to communication towers caused by the earthquake.

The passport offices in Yangon, Myitkyina, and Lashio have made adjustments to existing appointment dates to ensure that those who had previously secured online appointments can proceed with their applications promptly. Applicants are also advised to recheck their appointments for any revisions.

According to the announcement, individuals can proceed with their passport applications at the respective offices on the newly assigned dates.

Additionally, applicants who had secured appointment dates at the Myitkyina office may now apply at the Mandalay, Yangon, or Taunggyi offices. Similarly, those with appointment dates at the Lashio office may also apply at the Yangon, Mandalay, or Taunggyi offices, as officially announced.
