NUG announces the abolishment of MOEAF

The Ministry of Labor of National Unity Government, NUG announced the declaration of Myanmar Overseas Employment Agencies Federation, MOEAF as an illegal association and abolishment.

NUG said that MOEAF is abolished for cooperation with the Junta, active collaborating and financially supporting for the power perpetuation of the regime, collecting taxes to meet the demand for foreign currency and pressuring the workers to send 25 percent of their wages according to the way implemented by the Junta, buying jet fuel to carry out air strikes with foreign currency and actively collaborating to handed the bloodshed money to the Junta knowing about the purchase of weapons and ammunition.

The National Unity Government stated in the announcement that although they had asked MOEAF to participate in the Myanmar democracy movement several times, MOEAF didn’t follow and failed to take actions upon overcharging of service, failure to expatriate workers to the determine place and labor right violations.

The NUG government also warned that MOEAF would be blacklisted and prosecute under the anti-terrorism law if it continued to exploit the workers, lack of responsibility, and accountability, force to follow the instructions of the Junta
