The Chinese national owned factory is manufacturing Japanese brand GORE-TEX and a cavity with 30 people including the supervisor have to give 80 to 90 fabric per 10 hours.

“They are asking more than we could make. We negotiated before but currently a worker is assigned for 3 to 4 points. We are being verbally abused every day for not meeting the targets,” a worker said.

The factory workers are get paid 50,000 kyats for A+, 40,000 kyats for A and 25,000 kyats for B+, 20,000 kyats for B, 10,000 kyats for C as professional fees. The factory bias the workers who are confident with the supervisors and those who are not are discriminate in the workplace,” the worker said.

There are more than 100 day laborers in the factory but they are not appointed as permanent stuffs after working for more than 3 months.
