According to local residents of Muse, Chinese authorities arresting the migrants every day as there are few numbers of people who go back to Myanmar after crossing the China border with one week entry card such as TBP, BP via Muse

It is said that those who enter with a temporary border pass must return to Musa after 7 days and must do the re-entry processes.

Currently, there are many people who go to work in China from the Muse border gate but do not return after 7 days.

“There are many one week entry card users who don’t come back to Myanmar after exceeding the period. So, the Chinese polices are warning that to go back to Myanmar and they would arrest if their entry permit exceeds,” said a Muse resident.

It is said that some of those arrested were punished and some were sent back to Myanmar and banned from entering China for 3 to 5 years.

Currently, there are hundreds of Myanmar nationals who are arrested for overstaying in China every day, and it is said that checks and arrests are being made in every neighborhood.

“One week entry card user could stay for a year if their Chinese employer apply them a work permit card at the Chinese card but the employer have to guarantee for that. The other people with one week entry or passport have to comeback to Myanmar via the border gate and must apply for the entry badge again or otherwise they could be arrested,” said a Muse resident.

There were very few arrests when Myanmar nationals entered China through the border gate at the end of last year, due to the battles in Muse township but since the beginning of this year, the arrests of overstay people have increased.Chinese authorities arresting the migrants every day as there are few numbers of people who go back to Myanmar after entering China with one week entry card via Muse
