It is reported that 15 Burmese migrant workers working in Phuket were fired from their jobs without being provide supporting documents by their Thai employer although the employer promised to do.

"In Phuket, 15 workers who did not get their wages contacted us for help. Their boss had revoked their Namelists saying that he would grant them Non-Thai Identification card. In fact, he did not and neither pay the workers. He is even driving them out of the workplace," said the WAG group, who are helping the workers.

The process of making Non-Thai Identification Card includes submitting the name list for CI (Certificate of Identity), blood testing, finger printing and issuing permit paper.

The workers said that the Thai boss called the police to arrest them in addition of castigating more than 230,000 Baht including the remaining wages and the money he charged to make the Non-Thai Identification card

Therefore, the workers together with the WAG group had reported to the Phuket labor protection and social security office to get back the refund of the remaining wages of more than 2 lakhs Baht.
