The workers are demanding the reopening of the A factory in the Saung Oo Shwe Nay factory. The workers of the factory said that if they could not reopen the A factory, they should pay a reasonable compensation to fire them.

“They don’t ask the worker’s consent. They just ordered us that we have to move at March 23. Both the WCC and union negotiated but the problem doesn’t solve. The GM and HR managers themselves said that they would not negotiate anything related to that,” said a worker.

Workers are signed EC contract by cavity categories but moving them to other factories or departments is breaking the contract. The workers want to continue working at A factory and demand reasonable compensation to fire them fi they could not reopen. They negotiated through union and WCC but the factory refused. They are collectively demanding that since April 6 from the outside of the factory as the A factory closed,” the workers said.

“EC is signed with lines we work so this is a violation. The labor office said that it doesn’t count with EC contract. The factory force us to sign warning and punish us if it is us who break the rules but if they do it doesn’t count so this is clearly oppressing,” said workers.

The factory inform the all supers about the move of factory at last December said that workers from B and C have to come collaborate at A.

“They told us to combine the cavities as workers from B and C would come and join at the meeting. Workers from A accept but they again told that workers from A have to join at B at March 21st. And they move all the machines on 23. That makes the workers unable to accept,” said a worker.

It is reported that there are 15 machine lines in Saung Oo Shwe Nay A factroy and around 300 workers are working there. There are around 1,800 workers in the scope of the whole factory and they are manufacturing SMOG, H&M and DIVIDED brands. Workers said that there are 4 more sub factories and fabrics of H&M is sent to other factories after the dispute.
