The officials of Dong Sheng Xing Apparel Co., Ltd factory which locates in War Ta Yar Industrial Zone, Shwe Pyi Thar township are forcing the workers to work excessive hours. STUM also said that the factory was renamed from GYSen Myanmar (2) Garment Factory.

“They called overtime until 12:00 p.m. We had to work all light on Saturday. no pregnant women, mothers with children left. They were forced to quit their jobs if they don’t work overtime and also put various kinds of pressure on them, and discriminated against them. Even when they called the labor office, the team that came to inspect the factory did not check, but turned away at the gate," the workers said, according to the STUM group.

When the inspection team visited, the workers were told to hide in the garment heating room of the Packing Department. On December 29, 200 workers from Packing, Iron and QC and cutting machine line department had to work until 12 midnight and they reported to STUM as they can’t handle it anymore.

GY Sen (2) Myanmar factory was closed due to low orders, and over a thousand workers lost their jobs with an agreement to rehire former workers if the factory reopens. STUM wrote that after the company changed its name to Dong Sheng Xing Apparel Co., Ltd., there were many former workers who did not get a job because they recruited only those they needed.
