Please help us. We are the workers from Tianjin Fashion Milestone Garment factory. The factory is calling overtime on Martyrs’ Day and force us to sign a paper that says “We work overtime by our own consent.” It was the HR manager who forced us.

Workers don’t want to work as it is Martyrs’ Day. The factory is calling overtime every day until 7:00 p.m. since June. We don’t’ get day off on Sundays as well but instead work until 4:30 p.m. as an overtime. There is a workplace coordination committee but they don’t tell anything to the factory. We request for help.

(It is known that Tianjin Fashion Milestone Garment is operating with more than 1,000 workers at the Seik Kan Thar Street, Shwe Lin Ban Industrial Zone, Hlaing Thar Yar Township, Yangon. There is a workplace coordination committee in the factory but doesn’t include the workers’ representatives.

Workers have to go back home walking since the factory denied them transportation after refusing to work overtime in February. According to the information we received back then, the factory is manufacturing Sinsay and VERO MODA brands apparels.
