According to the United Workers' Union Federation STUM, the Yangon Fukuyama Apparel (YFA) garment factory on Ta Pin Shwe Htee Road, War Ta Yar industrial zone, Shwe Pyi Thar Township, Yangon has been renamed and opened in another industrial zone after the factory was closed with non-payment of notice.

A member said that the factory has reopened in the Ngwe Pin Lae Industrial Zone and that there are violations against union members.

YFA Garment Factory has changed its name to LONGZHISHANG SDI MANUFACTURING CO;LTD and opened in the Ngwe Pin Lae Zone, Hlaing Thar Yar. The former YFA factory workers are but not the union members.

It discriminates and bust against the union. It is a violation of ILO Convention 87, so we will record it as evidence. The owners of the factory are from Japanese, Korean and Chinese people. The brand that is currently being manufactured is the Jichodo brand, the same as before," said the STUM official.

In November 2022, the YFA Garment Factory terminate the 135 workers the claim for damages was decided at the bench council, he said.

In 2022, after repeated negotiations, the workers demanded to be paid a milk sum for the closure of the factory or to be reinstated. But on December 12th, the YFA Garment Factory refuse the demands of the workers saying that they would not be compensated and could not be rehired, so the council decided to pay the workers 30,000 kyats as compensation.

It is also said that although the YFA workers were not satisfied with the decision of the bench council, they do followed it.
