An investigation has revealed that the Royal Wood Finishing Factory has commits illegal firing again to a senior labour.

In the past two months, there was a case where a veteran employee of the Royal Wood Finishing Mill was suspended from work without being paid severance pay.

Although it happened two months ago, the injured labour has come forward to inform only now, and the he was carpenter with a steal rod inserted as his leg injured while working as a carpenter at the Royal Sawmill. In March 2021, he was reassigned as security and fired again.

The office has not yet checked on the issue of the royal new machine. Not yet inspecting too. We have just reported only. They also haven’t checked the issue of not getting the minimum wages yet. The firing case has not yet been compensated. The labor side has not yet sued but just reported. We worried to be ignored if we sue immediately. Its not acceptable that his wages are 130,000 which doesn’t fit the minimum wages. I don’t know about how other labours are. In the past, U Ko Ko Htwe died when the trade unions were cracked down in 22nd Ward of the Wood Finishing Factory of War Tayar Industrial Zone, The same for now. There is only report by the labour for now,” said the person helping with the labour.

The fired labour did not receive the minimum wage of 4,800 kyats per day and was paid only 130,000 kyats per month, so it is noted that there are many labours who still have to work under the minimum wage.

The Royal Timber Factory also had a conflict with the labours at the end of 2012.

Labours in the factory went on strike and protested, and more than 200 labours who were not allowed to enter the factory to meet and talk with the director were injured due to conflicts with the employer's employees. One of the labours was seriously injured and hospitalized while others were also arrested and imprisoned too.
