Today, on June 12th, the Myanmar Industries Craft and Service Trade Union Federation (MICS-TusF-Myanmar) again announced that they will not cooperate with the MADE project.

The MADE project is sponsored by the European Union and employer organizations of European countries such as EuroCham and Seaqua are implementing it.

The MICS labor federation also objected that Non-Government Organizations that do not represent workers are acting as a bridge between employers, workers and brands in the project and developing a grievance handling system as suggested by the MADE initiative.

The statement also stated that the activities of NGOs that do not represent workers can manipulate workers' rights and represent fake workers.

MICS-TusF reiterated that they will still negotiate the active factory’s workers' rights, the rights of the workers of the brand that will leave the country under the difficult political situation. It has also been announced that it will coordinate directly in cases of workers, employers, brands and suppliers.

The MICS said in the statement Myanmar workers are underpaid, having to work excessive hours of overtime to meet the fabric demands and being unsafe on way back home from work nowadays .
