We have something we want to open up about.
The HR manager at Sudey factory is extremely cruel. The Sudey factory is located in front of Fishpaste Warehouse, near the Kali Traffic Lights, Bago.
Just yesterday (July 31), a young female worker from the sewing line was hit by a car while crossing the road to come to work around 6 AM. She is only about 20 years old and has been working at the factory for one year. She's from Mayin Village and was on her way to the factory. The car that hit her was reportedly a van. The incident happened not far from the Sudey factory.
She was first taken to Bago Hospital, and now she's been transferred to Yangon General Hospital. Her head is internally bleeding, and her shoulder bone is fractured and not a single HR staff member from the factory came to visit her at the hospital.
There was also another incident in the past around 9 PM when a young female worker had stomach pain, and the factory arranged a car to send her to the hospital, but no one followed up or came to see her afterward.
No matter what happens to the workers, the factory has never gone to the hospital or clinic to check on them.
The factory never files with Social Security when injuries occur in the workplace.
There was an incident where someone had a hand injury and needed around 5 stitches, yet the factory only gave unpaid leave and deducted their wages.
They also fire workers just for being absent without leave for two days.
In the Mo-pattern department, over 50 workers were laid off before completing three months of work without any prior notice. They didn’t pay a single kyat in compensation.
They even deduct half-day wages if a worker is late to work.
Workers are not allowed to go to the toilet if they don’t have a toilet card. The HR manager is the one who assigns this rule to the security team.
The main issue is that the HR manager treats the workers with extreme arrogance.
This is the situation at our factory. We’re sharing this in hopes of letting the relevant authorities know and asking for your support.
