We respectfully request your assistance.

I’m from Bago and I worked at called Skytex Myanmar.

We are currently being unfairly forced to work.

We want to inform the relevant authorities that the factory is requiring excessive overtime. We are made to work overtime until midnight 12 AM very day. Some workers are allowed to leave at 7 PM, but most of us work until midnight and have to return to work again the next morning. This is no longer manageable for us. We are also required to work a full shift on Saturdays.

They are forcing us to work overtime everyday even if we can’t take it anymore. They say we won’t be allowed to work overtime anymore if we refuse now. We are already working overtime every day. We are simply asking if we can have a day off once in a while.

The factory manager is constantly verbally abusing us. Working here feels like living in hell every day. We’re asking for help for being called illegal overtime.

They don’t only demand high production output but also force us to do janitorial work. The scent is overwhelming since we’re sewing fragrance sachets. But still the manager forces us to clean while they always pressure us to meet impossible targets. We have to sign reprimand if we don’t do janitorial works. They also cut our skill bonus.

The factory doesn’t give us annual leave for 2 years until we begged for to the new manager. Now, the Myanmar national manager has spoken up about what workers are facing, but the factory manager doesn’t accept it. That’s why we’re seeking help.

We want labour offices to take this report seriously.

This factory is located in Kalitatt Kalay village, Bago.

Thank you.
