I am from Peach Garden Garment Factory.

Please help us with something.

The factory's Production Manager (PM) is physically aggressive and verbally abuses the workers. They used to be a supervisor before.

Both the supervisor and the PM are extremely abusive. Even the supervisors work on sewing and patching defects together with the workers. They verbally abuse sewing workers with harsh and obscene words.

They insult us with degrading and sexualized us if we fail to meet targets. They discriminate the workers. It’s common to hear explicit and curse words constantly being shouted.

The PM has no respect whatsoever for the dignity or shame of the workers. They restricts the way we dress as well. They also scolds and yells over matters not related to their duties. The workers are suffering because of them. We want effective action to be taken.

(Peach Garden Garment Factory is located in Min Gyi Maha Min Kaung Road, Shwepyitha Industrial Zone 3, Shwepyitha Township, Yangon. The factory is fully foreign-invested and owned by a Chinese citizen. Nearly 900 workers are employed, manufacturing pants, polos, jackets, coats with padding, and sportswear for export to Japan.)
