It is reported that the officials from the labor office force three female workers from Myanmar Yong Jia Garment Color Correction Co.,Ltd which locates at Nawaday Villa, Hlaing Thar Yar Township, Yangon to sign an agreement.
STUM expressed that the complaints are not yet been completed, and on the morning of March 13th, the heads of the respective labor departments visited the employer’s house, called the female employees to meet with them, and forced them to sign under pressure and intimidations, according to STUM.
It is also known that since the employer has not signed an EC contract with the 4 female workers in Ma Mon Mon San, the case has not yet been completed since the latest submission to the Department of Labor the last time on March 6.
The employer dismissed 7 workers including Ma Mon Mon San for not working overtime until 8:00 pm and the employer agreed to re-employe them, to give the interim damages and not to discriminate them in the workplace but they have to resolve again on March 7 as the employer didn’t give Ma Mon Mon San’s salary on March 5.
During the period under resolution, the employer discriminated against 4 workers including Ma Mon Mon San increasing the hourly fabric demands from them and verbally abuse them in front of other workers.
