A female worker said that Myanmar San he factory interrupt the former employee’s career. The worker said the factory located at Shwe Yin Aye Kyaung Street (Htain Pin cemetery), Hlaing Thar Yar Township, Yangon.
“I resigned from Myanmar San he factory due to low wages and move to another job. It last only 3 days at the new job. The former employer is close to the new employer. So, I was laid off,” said the worker who was dismissed.
They said they resigned from Myanmar San he factory not only because of the low wages but also because of the low expert fees.
Myanmar San he factory is a dye painting factory and hires around 100 workers.
“I resigned due to low wages and no promotion. I moved to where I get paid more as I am struggling a lot for my livelihoods. The former employer manipulate the new employer. She spread lies that I cheat the accounts. They pay the salaries by their hands and how do we cheat?” said the worker.
The worker stopped going to Myanmar San he factory on August 7, 2024 and start a new job at AQUA Shoes factory at August 8, 2024 and dismissed on August 10, 2024.
“The line super told me that I am fired. The HR give my wages but didn’t tell the reason why. The administrative stuff said that it is because of my former employer,” the worker explained.
According to the worker, they received 3 day wages from AQUA Shoes factory but still left to get paid 6 day wages from Myanmar San he factory.
“I have to go send the orders on 6:00 or 6:30 a.m. when the Myanmar San the factory says its important orders. Sometimes I have to go when I am preparing to eat and it delayed me. But they don’t want to give overtime wages,” the worker said.
Some of the workers from the industrial zones told Myanmar Labour News that former employers from Bago and Yangon interfere the career of resigned workers, manipulate the new potential employer not to hire them and intimidate them as well.
“Workers are entitled to notice fee and compensation according to their service if they were dismissed without being inform in advanced. But this case might be covered by the probation period as well. But interfering the resigned worker’s career is labor right violation,” a labor activist notice.
It is learnt that Myanmar San he factory is owned by a Chinese national and hires around 100 workers. AQUA Shoes factory is located at Mya Sein Yaung Industrial Zone, Hlaing Thar Yar Township.
