MYANMAR RUITAI ELECTRONICS CO,LTD hire more than 200 day laborers without promoting to permanent stuffs

Workers from MYANMAR RUITAI ELECTRONICS CO,LTD which locates at Eastern Awine, Awine village group Bago division said that there are more than 300 day laborers in the factory and more than 200 are not appointed as permanent workers which cause them causalities.

Furthermore, employment contracts are not signed and day laborers with more than a year of service are not appointed as day laborers and the laborers were only asked for police certificate but not the other documents when they applied to the job.

“Factories workers are not entitled to leaves. They don’t even know what is casual, medical and service elaeves. We are cut 500 kyats for taking a day of leave,” said a worker.

Workers said that products outputs are asked although they are being difficult products excessively until they got exhausted and the QA department test the qualities continuously which makes them also work beyond working hours.

“We are entitled to 1 hour break for meal and other break times but we can’t enjoy as they force us to finish quickly to return to work. We are working without a break,” said the workers.

The factory does not provide the workers transportation and gives the day laborers meal and transportation allowance 1,200 kyats as allowance on Saturdays but it is not enough for the workers which makes them use their own earnings.

MYANMAR RUTAI ELECTRONICS CO,LTD factory workers asked that to appoint the day laborers as permanent workers, to give legal access to leaves, to give full break time, not to ask more than what they do and to provide transportation or sufficient allowance for meal and transportation.

MYANMAR RUTAI ELECTRONICS CO,LTD factory is owned by a Chinese national and manufacturing wired head phones and ear phones.
