The stuffs from the Mo Nar Li Zar Advertisement Occupation) Door to Door Marrketing company said that their wages and labors are exploited and they get paid very few. The business is locates at Bago Bus Stop, Bago Road, 11 Ward, Haling Thar Yar Township.
“The working hours starts at 10:00 am and we have to walk to townships that we promote and get back only at 8:00 pm. We got back only at 11:00 pm if we have to go to rural areas and have to rest only at 1:00 am after finshing the documents,” said a sales stuff.
The sales stuffs only have 2 holidays per week and they also have to take care of the employers’ personal stuffs at the morning. Currently there are 20 stuffs including male, female and LGBTQs.
“They woke up us at 6:00 and force us to do house works such as cooking, cleaning and car washing and go out for sales only at 10:00 am,” said the worker.
The business distributing shampoos, beauty products and fat loss medicine with their own brands and selling at Yangon and Ayawaddy region with door to door system. “They force the stuffs to hit the target. If not stuffs have to buy those products with their own money which cost 10 of thousands. We have already signed that the employer would not force us to buy the products,” said the workers.
The workers are staying in the workplace and it’s a situation where they can’t refuse to sign. The transportation fees are also cut from their salary as well.
“They give us 2,000 transportation fees if we can sell and if not 3,500 is deducted. At least 10 days per month. Some were deducted for 3 or 4 months continuously which makes them to run away from the job,” a sales stuff explained.
There are having difficulties for personal expenses in addition to support the families due to several deductions. And the business have more working hours and less holidays than other jobs which doesn’t help the personal development of the workers any at all,” said the stuff.
“The products are expensive and most people can’t effort it. Most sales stuffs don’t hit the targets and have many days which are deducted which makes them even to not have a penny to spend. There are only 2 holidays per month and the working hours are too late which makes us unable to do any personal developments and lost our future,” said the workers.
The company doesn’t explain them about the deduction before hiring and the employer confiscate the workers’ NRC and ID cards. There is no employment contract and labor cards are not also asked on recircuiting.
