LAT WAR GARMENT (2) CO,LTD makes a rule that the workers have to inform about the leave a day in advance in addition of not giving legal leaves.

Causal leave is not a type of leaves that the workers can know the reason to take it, which makes impossible for them to inform a day in advance that leads the factory to cut their wages.

“We inform the factory due to emergency cases but leave is not permitted but cut the wages. They cut the day before and the next day’s salary also for taking a leave, which we suffer wages of 3 days,” said the LAT WAR GARMENT factory worker.

LAT WAR GARMENT (2) factory locates in Min Dahti Street, Hlaing Thar Yar Township, Yangon region and operating with 800 workers for manufacturing CR brand pants.

The factory hires a lot of youths and day laborers with 3,600 kyats for 8 working hours. The day laborers who have service of more than 3 months are also not appointed as permanent stuffs and some are layoff. The supers and all supers are verbally abusing the workers if they cannot finish the fabrics they are unfairly assigned to.

“There are 22 workers in a cavity including the supers. The GOOD brand is asked 30 fabric per hour and they don’t reduce the workloads considering the absents. We have to work overtime until 8:30 pm to finish the fabrics. We are worrying for having to go back late due to the military conscription news,” said the workers.

The toilets and drinking waters in the factory that the workers are using are also not clean and purified.

LAT WAR GARMENT (2) CO,LTD workers request that to give them legal casual and medical leaves, the all supers and supers to stop verbal abuses, to pay for the overtime and not to dismiss the day laborers.
