According to the labours from HONE KONG ENTERPRIST factory in Min Thadehti Kyaw Swar Road, Industrial Zone 1, Hlaing Thar Yar Township, Yangon, they are having a hard time because of being cut for the daily wages for a leave and don't receive the social security benefits because they don’t have the social security card.
It is known that the owner is a Myanmar national and the factory operates with around 100 workers and produces ready-made vermicelli.
A labour also said that the workplace is working on a shift system and they would like to be provided a ferry system.
The labours said that there is a lot of suffering as they are not getting the casual, medical and day-off leave that workers are entitled to, leaving a day for health issue or any other reasons cause the reduction of daily wages 4,800 MMK and attendance bonus 15,000 MMK.
The labours also state their inconveniences such as not getting the social security card and benefits although they have to pay for it, getting 500 MMK as a poverty alleviation payment but with limits such as not giving it when they take one leave and don’t work on Sunday, whilst they appeal to increase the daily wages of 4,800 MMK.
The labours also said that they are subjected to abusive communication and forced to work in the work place. They also said that there is no signed contract between the employer and them.
It is known from the labours that they want the legal benefits such as leave and social security allowances in accordance with the law, no using in profanities and to address in compliance with the law.
