Workers say that a line leader at KSheng (Factory 1) in Thadukan Industrial Zone has been arbitrarily deducting skill bonus payments (grade bonus) from employees.

“On payday, they said, ‘You don’t deserve an A+, you should only get an A,’ and then deducted over 30,000 kyats from the salary, claiming it was excess grade pay. Sometimes, deductions were made from nine workers in a single month. When questioned, they said, ‘Complain wherever you like,’” a worker said.

The line leader of Line 11 is a woman named Myo Pa Pa Lwin, and workers also say she discriminates against young female helper workers.

“She quickly promotes helpers who are close to her. But she says they looks like a child laborer and still hasn’t promoted her to full worker status to a young helper with over five months of experience,” they said.

KSheng Myanmar Garment Factory (Factory 1) is known to be a Chinese-owned factory and is currently manufacturing the Metaland brand garments.
