KB Microfinanace Myanmar exploited the workers by not giving their overtime wages

According to the workers, KB Microfinanace Myanmar Co,LTD which locates at No(9), Kamayut Township, Yangon district does not pay them overtime wages.

The company is earning by loan business for those who went to go and work at South Korea and having around 30 suboffices through out the whole countries in townships and cities such as Than Lyin, Tharkayta, North Oakkalar, Hlaing Thar Yar, Shwe Pyi Thar, Tuntwe, Mandalay, Mone Ywar, Mudon, Nay Pyi daw, Hinthada, Taungoo, Kyaut Sae, Dawei, Taunggyi, Magwe, Singue, Pyinmanar, Salin and other townships and employes more than 600 workers.

Although the company is earning with the loan businesses, the workers are exploited by forcing to work overtime for free.

The company force the workers to work beyond the legal working hours and the working hours of the drivers are from 6:00 Am to 6:00 pm and they only get paid overtime fees only if their working hours exceeds a total of 12 hours.

The drivers are told to sign the contract which states that the working hours are 12 hours a day and the salary is 250,000 kyats per hour and the workers who signed said that it was happened as they didn’t know the law very well.

“It was not like this before. It changes after the coup d’tect,” said the worker.

They don’t have to work for 12 hours a day before the coup and their overtime wages are also paid regularly but the company made changes since after the coup.

The workers have to work overtime on Saturdays but the company sometimes force the workers to work half day for free and sometimes force the whole day by giving only 3,000 kyats.

The workers requests for 2 things regarding the exploitations which are the company to set the driver’s working hours in accordance with the law and to give the overtime wages the company failed to do in the past with backdate.
