In addition to the CEO and HR of the PEPSI soft drink factory, the company nominated 3 complainants for the order to further sue the company

It is reported that on May 21, the judge ordered to file an additional lawsuit against the Company label in addition of CEO and HR of Pepsi company in the lawsuit filed by the workers against the officials of the Pepsi soft drink factory in Mawbe Township and Pepsi nominated 3 complainants. 

“It is true that the Pepsi company would be sued too. The company have to nominate a representative for that. It will follow the process. Workers submitted a request letter and they will submit a refutation. That’s how plaintiff cases work. The company will submit proofs and the judge will decree after that,” said a person who is helping the case.

The Judge approved Daw Su Su Myat who was selected by the Pepsi Company’s meeting decision as a representative and the rescheduled the next court at 11:00 am on June 4.

After the two-sided examination was conducted at the Mawbe District Court in the case (Pepsi) filed by U Thaung Han, a former worker, at the trial on April 3rd, the judge ordered that the company label be sued as an additional lawsuit, and the company have to confront.

U Thaung Han was dismissed illegally on October 31, 2022 due to his age which is against the EC contract and the negotiations were not success in several levels and the worker sued only at mid-March 2023 when he get approval letter to sue. 

There is a campaign to international customers to boycott Pepsi as the factory dismissed a worker who worked for 20 years without compensation and dismissed the sales in the same way without compensation on the grounds that they don’t hit the target.
