In addition to not receiving statutory holidays, the labours state that they faced physical abuse too.

According to the labours, apart from not getting the statutory leaves, there are also physical abuses in North Shore Group garment factory which locates in No.13 ward, Pathein, Ayeyarwaddy division.

“Cavities managers and supers don’t want to allow the statutory leaves for applying because of sick. Also scolded for applying social security leave. Also not giving a gate pass for an illness or emergency case after camming to the work. The supers and leaders use profanities much. There are also no emergency medicines in the dispensary. Force the labours from other department for cleanings but no janitor appointed. The Chinese woman from sewing department yells the stuffs, asking much standards, pointing things with feet. But now she has gone back to China saying that having health issues. The labours who resign are also not paid that they can have according to the salary they are entitled to according to the law. Pretending to be stupid because the labour doesn’t too.” The labour told the situations happening in the work place.

That factory is operating with over 600 labour force and manufacturing VAUDE, Schoffel brands.

“There are labours who abused by the all-super Daw (…) by throwing with cloths, sewing pins and scissors. She strangles and dehumanize. Sewing cavity line 4 leader Daw (...) vituperates the labours from her line using words such as “Will slap you all in the row”, “Whore”. I witnessed her dragging and bumping a girl too.”, said by a labour from that factory.

They also stated that there are moral harassments in the workplace that the labours are tolerating for several reasons and they want the responsible to solve the above rights violations.
