he order to further prosecute PEPSI Company has been rescheduled at 9th May

It is reported that the judge has rescheduled the order to the 9th May to sue not only the CEO and HR of the factory, but also the company name in addition to the lawsuit filed by the workers against the officials of the Pepsi soft drink factory in Mawbe Township.

"The latest situation of the U Thaung Han case from Pepsi drink was scheduled for 25.4.2024 at the district court, and the plaintiff filed an amended motion. It has been rescheduled at 11:00 a.m., on 9.5.2024" according to The Solidarity of Trade Unions Myanmar (STUM), which supports the labor issue.

After the case filed by former worker U Thaung Han was conducted at the Mawbe District Court, the judge ordered that the company be sued as an extension of the lawsuit on April 3rd.

After the company's name was ordered to be sued, the company submitted an amended motion on April 25, and the trial date was rescheduled for May 9.

U Thaung Han, the injured worker was dismissed on October 31, 2022 due to his age, in violation of the employment agreement, so he filed a lawsuit in the Mawbe District Court seeking legal damages of 10,040,000 kyats.

The dismissed worker U Thaung Han filed the case to the Department of Labor at November 2022 and the case was negotiated at the township meditation court three times but the case is not still resolved even the Department of labor and District office meditated and the injured worker request the officer to grant an order to file a lawsuit and it was granted in mid of March 2023

The worker had been working at the Pepsi factory for 20 years, and on 31st of October 2022, he was dismissed and it was not in line with the employment contract  and he would receive severance pay of over 50 lakh kyats based on length of service.
