How can we accept a settlement wage of just 6,800 kyats? Please help us. Our factory is the Cherry Factory (or) Great Summer Garment Factory under the Dishang Group, located in My Sein Yaung Industrial Zone. Workers who resigned from the factory this month were only paid a wage of 6,800 kyats.

I submitted my resignation letter on March 31, saying I had to leave due to urgent personal matters. Normally, salaries are to be paid in full by the 5th of the following month after resignation.

However, the HR manager said the salary wouldn’t be issued on the 5th but instead would be paid on the 8th. They also said that I could only submitted my resignation letter at 4:30 PM, which led to a dispute. I returned to my hometown the next day.  Later, I was informed by a colleague that the factory had posted a notice stating we would only be paid 6,800 kyats.

Over the past month, I worked 74 hours of overtime. Out of that, 8 hours were deducted. The manager also reduced the grades I achieved. I no longer want to bring up everything, but even after working nearly the entire month, being paid only 6,800 kyats is extremely unfair.

We are asking for your help to address this.
