It is known that workers dismissed after the authorities inspected the Chinese national owned De Xin Myanmar Garment factory which located at Thein Chaung Street, War Ta Yar Industrial Zone, Shwe Pyi Thar Township, Yangon region.

The manager said those who can tell the worker that report the factory will be awarded 100,000 kyats and force the workers who told the truth to go to the relative offices to confront that they lied and to say things that will raise the reputation of the factory.

Myanmar Labour News reported the news item on July 17, 2024 regarding the factory’s labor right abuses and the joint inspectors from relevant departments visited the factory and inquire the workers on July 24, 2024.

The workers told the inspectors the truth as they were asked to speak the truth and the factory summons the workers who told the truth and accused that these workers are the ones who report the factory and force them to confront the inspectors that they lied and to say things that will raise the reputation of the factory.

It is learnt that the workers were dismissed instead of entitling the changes in the workplace.

The factory is operating with more than 500 workers and manufacturing the Prenatal, SOULCAL & CO and VOYAGER brands. The factory have been operating for 2 years but there is no Trade Union and Workplace Coordination Committee WCC.
