CJ Feed Myanmar, which manufactures and sells animal feed and chicken hatchery, has announced that it will suspend production based on the lack of manpower to produce products and the current decline in business operations.

Starting May 28, CJ Company's production and sale of animal feed and chicken hatchery will be temporarily suspended, and it is said that the current operational capabilities are decreasing more than before.

The company's facing a shortage of labor in addition of sales becoming difficult, facing increasing costs and difficult of obtaining raw materials which is an unavoidable situation.

The company has requested the dealers and  customers of the CJ company to give the arrears of goods by June 28th 2024.

"Other factories that produce animal feed are also facing such difficulties. They are also struggling to solve it. Now, it is not just the factories that have a shortage of workers. There is also a shortage of workers in the agricultural industry. Many of them go abroad. In our corn farming, we pay 12,000 - 15,000 kyats per day, but there are very few people who will work," said a corn farmer.

Since the implementation of the conscription law in the country, many young people have left abroad, and due to the decline in the domestic economy and low wages, the construction, industrial zone and agriculture, live stocks and other various industries are experiencing labor shortages.
