BOHUA FASHION garment factory abusing labor rights

BOHUA FASHION Co,LTD which is manufacturing CROPP, XC brands jean pants is abusing the labor rights and no actions are taken even if they reported.

The workers said that they got cut for taking legal leaves and they are being demanded one sided fabric outputs of the employer which the Chinese national female manager and supers verbally abuse them if not get it. They are being recircuited to work on Saturdays and Sundays and don’t get paid overtime fees.

“They always said on meetings that, we are the one who would suffer if the factory lost order if we report on social media rather than fixing their needs. And U Thant Zin said that he knows with every department and he can resolve too,” said the workers.

The workers said that they are not entitled to legal causal leaves and cut daily wages 5,600 kyats, attendance bonus 15,000 kyats (30,000) for taking leave in the second half of the month if they take leave for health and emergency issues.

The worker said that the factory asked what is not the agreement output of the employer and the employee. The factory is asking 40 pant piece per hour for the cavities with 35 to 40 employees and never consider about the absent workers.

“Some stuffs from the HR department came to the cavity to ask for the fabric outputs. They said they would pay 5,600 when they posted the vacancy but now paying only 4,800 or 5,000 is exploiting,” said the worker.

It is also said that the employer force to work overtime in Saturday and Sunday for free by saying he would give substitute day off but cutting daily wages and attendance bonus for the so called day off too. The orders are interim orders from other factories and they are doing whatever they want. The employer does not give one copy of the EC contract to the worker,” said the worker.

Although the inspecting teams come to inspect as the workers reported in various ways, the factory already thought some workers how to lie them.

There is no trade union formed in the factory and although workplace coiltion committee is supposed to be formed by 3 electives of the employer and the 3 electives of the workers, the workers actually can’t choose their representatives as the employer force them to sign agreement on his chosen ones.

The workers said that they want to appeal to provide clinic and nurse in the factory, the foreigners not to manage the workers directly, to give Saturday and Sunday overtime wages, the irrelevant people not to involve in pressurizing to get the fabric output, to allow the workers to chose their representative for the workplace coalition committee and to allow legal leaves and holidays.

The factory is a Chinese national owned factory which is located at A Twin Wun Street, Shwe Lin Ban Industrial Zone, Hlaing Thar Yar Township, Yangon and operating with more than 300 workers.
