Additional lawsuit case against CEO and HR of PEPSI soft drink company rescheduled to August 16th

It is reported that the judge rescheduled the court to August 16 regarding the case filed by the worker against the officials of the Pepsi soft drink factory in Mawbe Township, not only against the CEO and HR of the factory, but also against the Pepsi company itself.

the district judge rejected the letters submitted by the complainant and the defendant in the case of U Thaung Han and Pepsi on July 18, 2024 and preliminary objection was rescheduled for August 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. It is also reported that the complainant’s lawyer filed a legal preliminary objection at the Mawbe District Court. The next trial has been rescheduled for August 16m 2024 at 11:00 a.m.

"The judge of the case can issue a rebuttal in civil suit. From that rebuttal, both the complainant and the defendant have to issue rebuttals," said the person who is assisting the case.

In case of U Thaung Han and Pepsi where the company name was also suited as an extension, Pepsi submitted the 3 defendants but the judge rejected Pepsi's amended statement of defense for the case, and the next trial has been rescheduled.

After the two-sided examination was conducted at the Mawbe District Court, the judge ordered that the company label be sued as an additional lawsuit, and the company have to confront.

U Thaung Han was dismissed illegally on October 31, 2022 due to his age which is against the EC contract and the negotiations were not success in several levels and the worker sued only at mid-March 2023 when he get approval letter to sue. 

There is a campaign to international customers to boycott Pepsi as the factory dismissed a worker who worked for 20 years without compensation and dismissed the sales in the same way without compensation on the grounds that they don’t hit the target.
