It is reported that the Pepsi company submitted a counterclaim in the case where worker from Pepsi soft drink factory at the Mawbe Township, sued Pepsi Company in addition of the CEO and HR.

"In the trial at the Mawbe District, the judge rescheduled U Thaung Han and Pepsi case to July 18 at 1 p.m.  as it was not ready to issue a rebuttal," said the person assisting the case.

In the trial between U Thaung Han and Pepsi, Pepsi submitted nominations for 3 defendants and according to the decision, Daw Su Su Myat was allowed to testify in the case filed on behalf of the company. On June 21st, they submitted counterclaim for the case.

On July 5th, the judge rescheduled the case to July 18 at 1 p.m.  as it was not ready to issue a rebuttal.

U Thaung Han was dismissed illegally on October 31, 2022 due to his age which is against the EC contract and the negotiations were not success in several levels and the worker sued only at mid-March 2023 when he get approval letter to sue.

There is a campaign to international customers to boycott Pepsi as the factory dismissed a worker who worked for 20 years without compensation and dismissed the sales in the same way without compensation on the grounds that they don’t hit the target.
