According to the supporting team, a woman worker from Muti color painting factory which locates at Block 23, No. 4, Nawaday villa, Hlaing Thar Yar Township, Yangon is fired for no reason.
"A woman named Ma Moe Moe Oo at that factory returned to the dormitory after finishing a day of work at the factory on January 6th. She went to see her friend around 5:30. Around 9pm, the owner of the Muti factory called her to come back to the dormitory and she had to return to the dormitory late at night. The employer fired her as soon as she arrived back saying that she doesn’t need to come starting from the next day,” said Solidarity of Trade Unions Myanmar.
Ma Moe Moe Oo, who was fired, had been working as a leader of Muti (Color painting industry) since May 2023, and was fired for no reason after more than 8 months of service. The STUM group said that they will process for her to be able to return to the workplace and receive benefits as specified in the law.
“We are going to resolve the matter starting from today, (January 15th) at the Labor Relations Department," the STUM group said.
There are a total of 13 female workers and 2 male workers at the Muti factory, and all workers are working with tap system without EC contracts.
